The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has expressed strong confidence in a victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Lawyer Bernard Bediako, in the upcoming Akwatia by-election scheduled for September 2, 2025.

Speaking on TV3’s Key Points programme on Saturday, August 30, 2025, Dankwah said he was “99% sure” of an NDC victory, citing findings from a recent poll conducted by his firm.

“I am 99% sure that the NDC will win the by-election,” he stated.

Latest poll puts NDC’s Baidoo in ‘comfortable lead’ in Akwatia by-election

According to the Global InfoAnalytics survey, Bediako is projected to secure 53% of the votes, while his New Patriotic Party (NPP) rival, Solomon Asumadu, is expected to garner 47%.

“NDC’s Bediako overtakes NPP’s Asumadu three days before the crucial polls in Akwatia. His lead is propelled by voters who want development and by SHS and tertiary-level voters who preferred him by a larger margin,” Dankwah noted in a Facebook post on Friday, August 29, 2025.

The poll highlights that Bediako’s lead is largely driven by voters prioritising development, with significant backing from senior high school and tertiary-educated voters.

Meanwhile, the survey also revealed that 57% of voters motivated by sympathy, primarily those with junior high school education or no formal qualifications—account for 4% of overall voter priorities.

Using the committed voter model, which represents the minimum expected vote share, Bediako maintains a 53% to 47% advantage over Asumadu.

The by-election was triggered by the death of NPP MP Ernest Yaw Kumi in July 2025, just months after he was elected to represent the Akwatia constituency.
