Black Stars forward, Mohammed Kudus, was absent from West Ham United’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on April 1, 2025.

The club confirmed that Kudus, the Ghanaian playmaker, did not participate due to an injury.

Despite having played a vital role for Ghana during the recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers, this marks the first time since December 2024 that Kudus has not been included in the Hammers’ matchday squad.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been an integral part of West Ham’s lineup, and his absence has raised concerns among fans and pundits alike.

Recently, he ended his goal drought for the Black Stars during the World Cup qualifiers.

Kudus’ absence has stirred questions, especially as he has been key in Graham Potter’s tactical setup.

Known for his ability to break defensive lines, versatility, and skill in navigating tight spaces, he has been crucial to West Ham’s attacking play.

The club announced on its official website that the former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Nordsjaelland star is sidelined with an undisclosed injury.

While he participated in both of Ghana’s international fixtures and trained upon his return, there are concerns that he may have sustained a knock.

Who replaces Kudus in the West Ham lineup?

With Kudus unavailable, Republic of Ireland forward, Evan Ferguson, takes his place in the squad.

The Brighton and Hove Albion loanee, who joined the team in January, eagerly made the most of this opportunity.
