Outspoken sports personality, Bright Kankam Boadu, has said that President-Elect John Dramani Mahama will perform well in his second term in office as the leader of the nation.

According to him, Mahama will do his best to alleviate the plights of Ghanaians who gave him a massive endorsement in the 2024 general elections, to avoid the criticisms he faced in his first term.

The Pure FM sports journalist indicated that since the president-elect was voted out in 2016 and has now returned, he has gained more experience to handle the affairs of the nation in a much better way.

“I am hopeful that President Mahama will do well, because when you maltreat a woman and she leaves you and comes back, you treat her differently. Mahama knows the circumstances under which he was booted out, and now that he has been given an overwhelming endorsement, he will do his best.

“So, he knows his mistakes and will do better to avoid them now. The Ghanaian voter casts their vote based on the economy, so, he will learn from that and treat us well,” Kankam Boadu said in Twi while speaking on Pure FM.

This comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson declared the results of the 2024 general elections on December 9, 2024.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, emerged as the winner, garnering 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55%, while the New Patriotic Party Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, finished second with 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.

The NPP also lost most of their parliamentary seats, with some of their bigwigs like KT Hammond, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, and Henry Quartey being major victims.
