Sarkodie (L) and M.anifest (R)

Some individuals believed to be aligned with SarkNation; the fan base of rapper Sarkodie, are criticising M.anifest over a post he shared on his X page on August 26, 2025.

In the post, M.anifest reflected on how long it took him to understand the way Ghanaians interpret the term “flow” in rap.

Too many people are loud and wrong about music business in Ghana – M.anifest

“It took me a couple of years to realize when they talk about flow in these parts they mean how fast you rhyme lmao,” rapper M.anifest wrote.

Although M.anifest did not mention anyone in particular, many SarkNation fans took the post as a subtle jab at Sarkodie.

One fan argued that Sarkodie embodies rap flow in its purest form and accused M.anifest of refusing to acknowledge it.

‘Popularity doesn’t equal wealth’ – M.anifest

“Bro, Sarkodie does it effortlessly… You just don’t want to admit it. Or is it because you are very fluent and can rap in English? Do you think your proverbial raps make you the best? I know you are good but can’t do it effortlessly like Sarkodie. No cap bro,” the fan wrote.

Another fan argued that M.anifest thinks rapping mostly in English puts him on the same level as Sarkodie, describing that mindset as delusional.

“This guy ein GodMC song dey make he figa he dey the same league with Sark, delusion of grandeur dey worry you charley. Have some deep introspection and accept you’ll never be like him,” the fan wrote in pidgin.

Nearly a decade ago, M.anifest and Sarkodie were locked in one of the biggest rap rivalries Ghana had ever seen.

Sarkodie released a diss track aimed at M.anifest, who replied with GodMC, a song that became central to the beef but has since been taken down from his streaming platforms.

The two rappers surprised many in 2020 when they collaborated on Brown Paper Bag, a song that addressed colonisation and unity in Africa.
