USA-based Ghanaian artiste, Skrewfaze has said the government has failed woefully to invest appropriately to develop the music industry in the country.

“In Ghana, the government always says that I’m going to invest in the industry but they don’t do it so if you don’t invest in the industry how do you expect it to grow,” he said on Cape Coast’s Property FM.

He added “In Ghana the system is not working because we don’t have any system to collect royalties for musicians because we don’t have an appropriate system to build our industry.

He said even though his colleague, Shatta Wale has been saying there’s no music industry in Ghana, he has a different approach to what his friend has been doing.

“Ghana doesn’t have an industry and Shatta Wale was saying it all the time but I know some people will say that when Shatta Wale was saying it, you didn’t say anything to support it.

“We also know how to approach issues from a different perspective because we don’t have to come out and be shouting but Shatta Wale’s approach there’s some truth in what he says,” he told Amansan Krakye.
