Borussia Dortmund have barred Jobe Bellingham’s parents, Mark and Denise, from entering the club’s dressing room.

According to Sky Sport Germany, during Dortmund’s 3-3 draw in the 2025/2026 Bundesliga opener against St Pauli, Jobe was substituted in the second half.

It was understood that Mark Bellingham was not happy with the team’s overall performance and the substitution of his son, which he fumed about in a conversation with the club’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl.

The German newspaper BILD also reported that Mark Bellingham wanted to meet with head coach Niko Kovac directly but did not get the opportunity to do so.

Reports suggested that Jobe Bellingham’s father was peeved about the situation, which was noticed by some of the players during the moment.

In response to the issue, the club has clamped down on their dressing room protocol by banning all family members of players from accessing the area.

Dortmund’s Managing Director, Lars Ricken, noted that the impasse has been resolved amicably, and they will take further measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.

“We got Jobe Bellingham because we really built a relationship of trust with the parents over the years. Now the family flew in especially for their son’s first Bundesliga game and wanted to meet Jobe after the game.

“They stood in the hallway to the locker room and had an emotional conversation with Sebastian, which, however, is not a problem at all given this relationship. In the future, though, we will ensure that players, coaches, and officials have access to the locker room area, so that we no longer get into trouble by commenting on such news. But today, everything has been resolved, no drama,” Ricken told Sky90 – The Football Debate.
