Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi, has humorously responded to a fan’s daring proposal to her on social media.
The Duduke crooner left fans in stitches with the way she halted a bold admirer who slid into her Snapchat DMs with an unexpected marriage proposal.
The fan who felt confident in his approach had sent Simi a message that read “Na me go still marry you,” which translates to ‘I’m the one that will still marry you.’
Rather than ignore his message, Simi responded with a hilarious but, at the same time, savage response.
She wrote, “When the devil is knocking on the door, you don’t need to open it.”
Her clapback has generated mixed reactions amongst her fans and colleagues. While some admired the way she curved the admirer while keeping things lighthearted, others found the exchange hilarious.
Simi is happily married to fellow singer Adekunle Gold and shares a 4-year-old daughter, Deja, with him.
