Uncle Ebo Whyte deliveres a powerful piece of advice to the world at heart Uncle Ebo Whyte deliveres a powerful piece of advice to the world at heart

Ghanaian playwright and marriage counselor, Uncle Ebo Whyte, has delivered a powerful message to couples, stressing the critical role of intimacy in sustaining healthy marriages.

According to him, when the sexual connection breaks down, the overall stability of the marriage is at risk.

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews with Kareen, Uncle Ebo Whyte, born James Ebo Whyte, shared practical strategies for couples struggling with intimacy, a topic he says is often treated as taboo but is essential for marital longevity.

“When sex fails, marriage suffers,” he stated bluntly, adding that couples must learn to address intimacy issues openly and without shame.

Uncle Ebo Whyte outlined several actionable tips for couples facing challenges in their intimate lives:

Open Communication: Couples should speak honestly about their frustrations and desires. Regular, open conversations can help remove feelings of guilt or shame and foster emotional closeness.

Emotional Safety: Building trust through mutual respect and vulnerability is essential. Intimacy flourishes when partners feel emotionally secure, not just physically attracted.

Professional Support: Couples dealing with trauma, low sexual desire, or persistent intimacy issues should not hesitate to seek therapy. Professional counseling offers non-judgmental guidance and effective solutions.

Playfulness: Maintaining a sense of fun through small acts like flirty messages, date nights, and playful surprises can reignite passion and anticipation.

Prioritising Time Together: Carving out undistracted, quality time is crucial. Regular moments of connection help strengthen the relationship beyond everyday routines.

Uncle Ebo Whyte has long advocated for open conversations about intimacy in Ghanaian society.

“When sex is good, all other issues in a relationship can be handled,” he noted.

He further encouraged couples to prioritise their connection, seek help when necessary, and approach each other with curiosity, kindness, and patience.

“Rebuilding intimacy is a journey, and it starts with the courage to talk about it,” he concluded.
