Broadcast and online journalist Asare-Bediako Addo has made a thought-provoking statement, suggesting that the indiscipline acts happening on social media are a true reflection of our society.

Speaking on Atinka Television’s social program ‘Efie Asetena’ hosted by Odehyie Naana, Asare-Bediako emphasized that a bad society will never produce good people, and whatever happening online is a direct result of the values and behaviors prevalent in our society.

He believes that parenting has become a major problem in our society, leading to many of the indiscipline acts displayed on social media.

He notes that many young people lack proper upbringing, which is reflected in their online behavior. With the youth dominating social media, it is no wonder that we see a lot of negative behavior online.

He describes social media as a mixed blessing, having the potential to both make and unmake individuals depending on how it is used.

While social media has helped many individuals, companies, and nations, it also has a darker side.

He emphasizes the need for responsible social media use and better parenting to ensure that the next generation is equipped with the values and skills necessary to navigate the online world positively.

This statement serves as a reminder that the internet is a reflection of our society’s values and behaviors. By acknowledging the problems that exist in our society, we can work towards creating a better future for ourselves and the next generation.

By promoting positive values and behaviors, we can ensure that social media is used for good and not for ill.

Asare-Bediako’s comments are a call to action for parents, educators, and society as a whole. By taking responsibility for our actions and promoting positive values.

By working together, we can ensure that social media is used to uplift and inspire, rather than to degrade and harm.
