What really happened to the nine hikers who died on death mountain? Daily Mail’s ALEXA CIMINO investigates in new Conspiracy Vault Series

    By ALEXA CIMINO, US REPORTER

    Published: 18:21 EST, 8 November 2025 | Updated: 22:00 EST, 8 November 2025

Conspiracy Vault, a brand-new investigative YouTube series by the Daily Mail, has officially launched – and it’s challenging the accepted narratives of history’s most chilling cold cases.

Hosted by US reporter Alexa Cimino, each episode reopens a notorious mystery through the physical clues that defined it.

The series is led by five key pieces of evidence: real-world objects that anchor each story and reveal how rumor, secrecy, and cover-ups have shaped the truth.

This isn’t a recap. It’s a forensic deep dive. Each episode rips open the files, reexamines the proof, and explores the theories that experts still whisper about decades later.

The debut episode takes on one of the most haunting cases of all time: The Dyatlov Pass Incident.

In 1959, nine experienced hikers met a horrifying and unexplained end in Russia’s Ural Mountains.

Their bodies were discovered scattered miles from their tent – some barefoot in the snow, others with massive internal injuries but no external trauma.  And their campsite? The tent was slashed open from the inside out.

For more than sixty years, the official story has failed to convince. Was it an avalanche, a weapons test, or something far stranger?

Conspiracy Vault follows the trail of evidence to separate fact from folklore – and uncover why, after all this time, the truth might still be buried beneath the snow.

Watch the full episode now on The Crime Desk YouTube Channel – and stay tuned for new Conspiracy Vault investigations each month.
