Empress Gifty Adorye is a Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye is a Ghanaian gospel singer

Ghanaian gospel musician, Empress Gifty Adorye, has taken legal action against Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, at the Tema High Court.

The lawsuit, which was filed on 20 May 2025, is based on allegations that Nana Agradaa made defamatory statements about Empress Gifty in a live session on social media.

According to the statement of claim from Empress Gifty, she believes Nana Agradaa’s words have damaged her reputation as a public figure and gospel musician.

She has therefore asked the court to take four major actions in her favour:

    GH¢20 million in damages

Empress Gifty is asking the court to order Nana Agradaa to pay her Twenty Million Ghana Cedis (GH¢20,000,000.00).

According to Empress Gifty, this money is meant to compensate for the damage done to her name through slander (spoken lies) and libel (written or recorded lies).

    Permanent stop to further defamation

The “Watch Me” hitmaker is also asking the court to give a perpetual injunction. This means she wants the court to permanently stop Nana Agradaa, and anyone connected to her, including her servants, agents, or anyone acting on her behalf from ever saying or publishing such harmful statements again.

    Removal of All Offensive Content

The gospel musician wants Nana Agradaa to delete all videos and audios in which she allegedly made the defamatory comments.

She is asking the court to force Agradaa to take down these materials from every social media platform where they were posted, on Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, or any other platform.

    Payment of legal costs

Lastly, Empress Gifty is asking that Nana Agradaa is made to pay for all the costs related to the lawsuit.

This includes paying her lawyer’s fees and any other legal expenses she has incurred while seeking justice.
