Antoine Semenyo’s match-winning goal against Fulham in the Premier League earned him massive applause from legendary footballers worldwide.

Early in the game, Semenyo dribbled past Antonee Robinson on the edge of the 18-yard box and curled the ball into the bottom right corner of the goalpost, past Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The way Semenyo struck the ball into the net earned him praise from legendary footballers like Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Michael Owen.

    What the legendary footballers said

    Michael Owen

Liverpool legend Michael Owen described Semenyo as a top talent in football due to his exceptional skills and goal-scoring abilities.

“I love this boy. I like him. He is a top talent,” Owen said, as reported by ghanasoccernet.com.

    Thierry Henry

Legendary Arsenal player Thierry Henry praised Semenyo, saying, “You were cooking? You were cooking some fufu, jollof. The guy was good, so he went low to go past the defender. Lamine Yamal scored a similar goal against Real Madrid,” he said on Sky Sports.

    Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher said that it would be tough for any defender to block Semenyo from scoring in that position.

“I think with this situation, a player can go both ways. In this situation, it is very difficult, and it would be great defending to block the shot. So, where the shot was taken lessens the value of the base in terms of XG,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

    About Semenyo’s future

The Bournemouth attacker has been on the radar of many European clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Renowned British journalist David Ornstein disclosed that the English club is likely to demand a fee in the region of 65 to 70 million euros.

Semenyo is currently focused on finishing the 2024/2025 season with good statistics, having played 31 matches so far in the Premier League, scored eight goals, and provided four assists.
