Minister of Communication, Technology and Digital Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has once again paid tribute to Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, the late Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, who tragically lost his life along with seven others in a helicopter crash.

The accident occurred in Adansi Sikaman, within the Adansi Asokwa District of the Ashanti Region, while they were en route to an event in Obuasi.

In a heartfelt message shared on his X account on August 9, 2025, Sam George posted a touching photo of himself with Dr Mohammed, capturing a moment of warmth and friendship.

The Ningo-Prampram MP described the late Tamale Central legislator as a man who exemplified excellence in all his pursuits, adding that Dr Mohammed was more than a colleague, he was like a brother to him.

Sam George also expressed his emotional struggle with the thought of visiting the late MP’s wife and children, reflecting the deep bond he shared with the family and his frequent visits to them.

He wrote, “Comrade, this was just 4th July oh. You showed excellence in everything you did. You were a brother’s brother. Always had a story or joke to tell.

“How? How do you expect me to visit Hajia now? What am I going to tell your young son?

“Comrade Murtala, your silence is extremely loud. Respond to our calls! 🦁😭😭😭.”
