Legendary Black Stars footballer Abedi Ayew Pele has urged Ghanaians to conduct themselves with discipline and composure leading up to the 2024 general elections.

He advised voters to remain calm and patient throughout the election process, even in the face of potential provocations.

The four-time African Player of the Year emphasised the importance of discipline among citizens as they exercise their right to vote for a leader they believe is suitable to guide the country during these critical times.

In an interview with Max TV, Abedi Pele called on all stakeholders and politicians to fulfill their roles in preventing chaos and violence, thereby maintaining peace in the nation.

“We are all here to ensure that the elections proceed smoothly and peacefully, without any disruptions. The entire country should listen and demonstrate patience. We often say that patience can move mountains. We must exercise patience and allow our leaders to work towards bringing peace to our nation,” he stated.

The 2024 general elections are set to take place on December 7, 2024.

Candidates such as New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, and other political party candidates will be vying for the presidency.
