New West Ham United coach, Graham Potter, is expecting Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus to be one of the creative sparks in the team.

With West Ham experiencing a dearth in attack due to injuries to some of their strikers, Graham Potter is expecting Mohammed Kudus to step up for the team.

Speaking ahead of West Ham’s game against Fulham, Graham Potter said that he is counting on Mohammed Kudus’ creativity as the team seeks to navigate a run of tough games without strikers Michail Antonio and Fulkrug.

“Sometimes in these situations [with several absences in one position], you have to be creative. You have to look at the attacking players you have and what their attributes are and use them accordingly, so Mo’s [Kudus] got the capability to do that. It’s an option for us,” he said.

Potter also hinted at a possible change in Kudus’ position, noting that he thrives more in the right midfield position.

“Mo was really dangerous,” Potter remarked. “He’s got some good attributes. He worked really well in the first half, pressing, won some balls, and carried a threat. He was affected by the team in the second half because it was more difficult for him to get into the game.”

“He [Kudus] played more centrally than he has done for a bit. He quite likes that central role to the right… he offers us a good option, absolutely,” he said.

In the 2024/2025 season, Mohammed Kudus has scored three goals in eighteen appearances for West Ham.
