Wendy Shay has indicated that the driving force behind her rise in the music space has been a mix of unshakeable faith, strict discipline and persistent effort.
She opened up about this in an interview on Okay FM.
The ‘Heaven’ singer reflected on how her earliest days in the industry tested her resolve, explaining that she leaned heavily on God for direction when everything felt uncertain.
Before finding her footing, she recalled pushing through pressure, competition and the overwhelming pace of the business. According to her, the only thing that kept her steady was her belief that God would guide her.
“I relied on God because when I entered the music industry, things were difficult but I had only God. The work and efforts I put in made me realise that I’m here to stay,” she said.

She observed that watching Ghanaians respond positively to her work assured her that the path she chose was the right one and that she was built for longevity.
Wendy also credited her consistency to remaining locked in on her ambitions and refusing to be distracted.
“My hard work was also appreciated so I can say it’s God’s grace. I stayed focused and set my eyes on the prize,” she posited.
Wendy Shay added that maturity has helped her choose peace over conflict, especially when dealing with criticism or public commentary.
“I’ve come to know who I am so if you don’t talk about me, I won’t talk about you and even if you talk about me, I won’t mind you. I know where to channel my energy to so I’ve been very disciplined and principled,” the Ghanaian songstress averred.
