Basake Holy Stars face a tough challenge as they prepare to host Asante Kotoko, who are in top form and eyeing the league’s top spot.

A win for the Porcupine Warriors would mark their fourth consecutive victory and potentially propel them to first place, while Holy Stars, known for their giant-killing ability, aim to disrupt Kotoko’s run.

Holy Stars made waves with a win over Hearts of Oak in their season opener, but they’ve struggled for consistency since. After six games, they’ve only secured one additional win, a narrow victory over Karela United.

Coming off a 2-0 loss to Nsoatreman, they’ll be eager to reset and find success against Kotoko at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium in Ayinase on Sunday.

Kotoko enters the weekend with an impressive record, boasting three straight wins, all with clean sheets. Their momentum and strong defensive line—conceding only two goals in six games—make them heavy favourites.

Offensively, Kotoko averages a goal per game, posing a threat to Holy Stars, who have managed just two clean sheets in seven matches.

This will be the first-ever league meeting between the two sides, with Kotoko’s recent form and solid team chemistry making them likely to come out on top.
