Kotoko have won 13, drawn 7, and lost 5 of their 25 matches this season Kotoko have won 13, drawn 7, and lost 5 of their 25 matches this season

Asante Kotoko will aim to extend their unbeaten run and strengthen their position at the top of the Ghana Premier League table when they host Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have been in strong form, securing vital wins in recent weeks to climb to the summit of the league. Their confidence is high, especially at home, where they have recorded 10 wins, one draw, and just two losses this season.

Bechem United, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency. They were awarded three points following Nsoatreman FC’s withdrawal from the league but haven’t won any of their last two matches played on the pitch. Now sitting 8th on the table and seven points behind Kotoko, Bechem will need a significant improvement to pose a challenge in Kumasi.

In their last six encounters since March 2022, Bechem United hold the upper hand, winning twice compared to Kotoko’s single victory, with three matches ending in draws. Bechem also won the reverse fixture 1-0 on November 10, 2024.

Statistically, Kotoko have won 13, drawn 7, and lost 5 of their 25 matches this season, scoring 27 goals and conceding 15—an average of 1.08 goals scored and 0.60 conceded per match. Bechem have 12 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses, netting 26 goals and conceding 17—averaging 1.04 goals scored and 0.68 conceded per match.

Sunday’s clash offers Kotoko an opportunity to solidify their lead as the title race intensifies, while Bechem will be hoping to rekindle their top-four ambitions with a strong performance.
