Met Office weather maps show it has been a warm and sunny start to the Easter holidays with temperatures hitting 21C.
Over the last few days, sun-seekers headed to parks to make the most of the dry and bright weather closer to a typical day in July.
On Friday, the highest temperature in the U was 24C (75.2F) at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, followed by 23C (73.4F) in Southampton and 22C (71.6F) in West London.
The Met Office said it was the warmest day since September 21, 2024 and parts of the UK were warmer than Marbella and Ibiza in Spain and Mykonos in Greece, which were all 18C (64F), and even Los Angeles which will be 22C (72F).
This was a lovely start to the Easter holidays, as families headed out with their children to beaches and green spaces to let them run free.
Before Friday, the UK’s highest temperature recorded so far in 2025 had been 21.3C (70.3F) on March 20 in both Northolt, West London , and Chertsey, Surrey.
However, while temperatures have dropped at the start of this week, Brits can expect another warm weekend.

However, while temperatures have dropped at the start of this week, Brits can expect another warm weekend. Pictured left is Friday’s forecast, pictured right is Saturday’s
Today it is going to be slightly less balmy than in the last few days.
Temperatures are sadly dropping a bit more towards what is normal for this time of year at 16C today.
However, things will heat up a bit towards the end of the week, with Thursday seeing highs of 19C up north in Yorkshire, and 17C further south.
On Friday, those in the midlands and up north may see sunny skies and 20C weather, and those down south are expected to have 19C highs.
People living in Nottingham, Hereford, Peterborough, Sheffield, Reading, London, and Birmingham will all see warm temperatures.
The warm weather will continue across the weekend, with a Met Office map showing 19 and 20C temperatures across the country.
One would normally expect the rain clouds to be in sight for the start of the Easter holidays.
But the Met Office said it will remain dry and settled over the coming days.
Brits woke up to morning fog and frost but it will soon clear, leaving another bright and sunny day for everywhere but the far northeast of Scotland, where patchy cloud will linger.

The forecaster said it will be ‘breezy’ near some English Channel coasts, but it will still warm in the sunshine.
However, the weather will return to warmer temperatures between Wednesday and Friday.
The Met Office said: ‘High pressure continues to bring fine weather with plenty of warm sunshine by day.
‘Cooler near the North Sea coast with cloudier skies developing across the east from Wednesday.’
