Asante Kotoko vice-captain Justice Blay has assured the team’s attackers that they will not concede in their Ghana Premier League week eight match.

The former Medeama SC star is urging strikers to step up and find the back of the net to help secure the team’s third victory of the season.

The Porcupine Warriors will face the newly promoted Basake Holy Stars at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase this Sunday.

“This weekend’s game against Basake Holy Stars, the mentality we are going into the game with is that we, the defenders, will not concede,” Blay told the club’s media team.

“So the strikers or forward players should score the goals for us and leave the rest to the defenders.”

Asante Kotoko currently sits second on the league table with 14 points, just one behind leaders BibianGoldStars, having played one game less.

The team remains unbeaten this season, with four wins and two draws under Prosper Ogum’s leadership.
