Gospel musician Diana Asamoah has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not perform abysmally, as suggested by some individuals in the public.

She explained that despite the disappointing defeat, the party finished second among 13 political parties, which is an indication that they did well.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb during the 2025 NPP National Delegates Conference on July 19, 2025, Diana Asamoah rebuffed claims of the party finishing last, saying, “With the elections, we [NPP] were not last but second.”

The staunch NPP supporter admonished party members and bigwigs to remain united and avoid anything that would bring division as they prepare for the flagbearership race.

She believes that the party will bounce back stronger in the political space if they stay disciplined.

“I expect that God will be with us for peace to prevail. Victory is dependent on unity, and I hope we understand ourselves. Genesis 11 says that the people could not build to heaven because God brought confusion among them. So, if we are united, we will campaign successfully,” she added.

The 2025 New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Conference is ongoing at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on July 19, 2025.

The conference is expected to bring together delegates from across the country to discuss and decide on key party matters ahead of the selection of a flagbearer slated for January 31, 2026.

Among the key agenda items for the conference is a proposal to amend aspects of the party’s constitution, including suggestions to expand the electoral college.
