Ghanaian rapper Edem has shared details on his legal battle after he was involved in an accident in 2023 that killed a pedestrian.

According to the rapper, the case remained in court for over a year before he was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Edem disclosed the extent of the court case and said his team was totally dedicated to making sure the issue was resolved in a transparent manner.

“What the whole world didn’t know was that from December 10, 2023, we were in court until February 2025 regarding the accident. My team and I attended court regularly because we wanted to ensure we provided everything needed by the law to prove our innocence,” he explained in an interview on Daybreak Hitz.

The rapper further said that the court formally exonerated him of all responsibility for the accident in February 2025.

“In February, the court issued a ruling and cleared us of the case,” he stated.

The accident, which made headlines in late 2023, raised public interest, with many awaiting the outcome of the case.

Even though Edem remained silent about the incident during the court proceedings, this disclosure has provided insight into the legal battle he was involved in for the past year.

The incident happened on Sunday, December 10, 2023, just hours after Edem appeared on UTV’s ‘United Showbiz.

He knocked down a pedestrian on the George W. Bush Highway, and unfortunately, reports indicated that the victim, a mentally challenged person, passed away on the spot.
