Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reminded Ghanaians of his party’s warnings about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2024 elections.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cautioned that the NDC and “dumsor” (power outages) are inseparable, indicating that the party is incapable of resolving the country’s power crisis.

However, Ghanaians did not heed his warnings and have now learned the hard way.

Bawumia stated that a constant power supply is essential for a 24-hour economy, but the NDC has failed to deliver this since coming to power, delaying their flagship 24-hour economy program.

“Can you have a 24-hour economy with dumsor? It is not possible. We warned Ghanaians that the NDC and dumsor walk together. Once they take one step forward, dumsor follows. Ghanaians didn’t listen, but today it is clear we have a major problem. We managed this for eight years, but for them, four months in, it’s a big challenge,” he told enthusiastic party supporters during his Thank You Tour.
