Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has praised his players after their crucial 2-1 victory over league leaders Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The match-week 30 clash at the Golden City Park saw the Bibires produce a spirited performance, with goals from Seidu Abubakar and starman Jonah Attuquaye in each half proving enough to secure all three points against the title contenders.
The important victory has lifted the Blues to 13th position on the league table with 41 points as they continue their fight to move away from the relegation zone.
Speaking after the game, Boadu admitted the encounter was a difficult one considering Medeama’s form and position at the top of the table.
“I thank the supporters in Berekum and all around the globe. It was a very difficult game. Medeama are in good shape. They are the league leaders, and we are also struggling at the bottom,” he said.
The experienced trainer also revealed his side approached the game with strong determination to avoid defeat and improve their standing on the table.
“We decided not to lose this match. At all costs, we wanted to win this game to lift ourselves in the league table,” Boadu added.
Berekum Chelsea will next host Dreams FC in another important league fixture on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
