The head coach of the Black Galaxies, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has said that he expects his players to take advantage of playing at home to secure an emphatic victory against Nigeria in the CHAN qualifiers.

He stated that with the tough nature of the game, it will be vital for them to get a convincing victory to give them confidence when they head into the second leg in Nigeria.

“The home advantage is crucial. We want to use the energy of our fans to motivate the team. Securing a win in the first leg sets the tone for the second leg, giving us an edge in this tight contest,” Didi Dramani told CAFonline.

The Black Galaxies will take on Nigeria in the first leg of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 4 pm local time.

The team will return to play the second leg in Nigeria on December 28, 2024, with the winner progressing to the main competition.

The CHAN tournament, set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in 2025, will see Ghana and Nigeria meet for the second consecutive time in the competition, after Ghana won on penalties two years ago to earn a spot in the last edition.

The Black Galaxies won their friendly match against Togo 1-0 and will be hoping to replicate a similar performance in their final qualifying game against Nigeria.
