Songwriter, instrumentalist, and singer Akwaboah Jr. has opened up about how he managed to protect his marriage from collapsing under public scrutiny.
The My Darling hitmaker, who tied the knot last year, revealed that he had to mentally prepare his wife for the harsh discussions and rumours that often circulate on social media.
“When I got married, if you followed what transpired on social media and the discussions that came up, people said a lot of things about me,” he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
“The lucky thing that happened to me was that I had already advised my wife earlier to expect some of the things that happened,” he continued.
Akwaboah explained that because he had prepared her in advance, they were able to handle the situation with ease.
“So when the things I psyched her about started coming up, we would observe them and just laugh because we expected it,” he added, as reported by MyNewsGh.com.
For him, marriage requires conscious effort to withstand external pressures.
“If there’s a need for us to go chill, we go out, have fun, and later come home to sleep. We need to do whatever it takes to protect our marriage from breaking down,” he emphasised.
