The assistant coach of Sudan, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, highlighting a growing sense of belief within the technical team.

Sudan heads into the tournament with renewed optimism following an impressive qualifying campaign, where they outperformed Ghana to secure one of the two qualifying spots. Brimming with confidence, the team is setting its sights on achieving glory in Morocco.

In an interview with 3Sports, Osei-Fosu emphasised their ambition to win the tournament while acknowledging the importance of taking it one game at a time. He also praised the winning mentality of head coach Kwasi Appiah.

“Appiah approaches every game with the expectation to win, and that is exactly what we intend to do in Morocco. But we will take it game by game. Our expectation going into AFCON 2025 is to win, and we believe we have the quality to achieve that,” he said.

After his appointment as Sudan’s head coach, Kwasi Appiah brought Osei-Fosu into his technical team. Together, they have already achieved the milestone of AFCON qualification, but their sights are now set on taking Sudan to even greater heights by claiming the coveted trophy.
