Black Queens scored Malawi 3-1 in a friendly match Black Queens scored Malawi 3-1 in a friendly match

Head coach of Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s 3-1 win over Malawi but indicated that they could have won by more goals.

Doris Boaduwaa scored a hat-trick as Ghana’s Black Queens came from behind to defeat Malawi 3-1 in a friendly match.

The Black Queens’ 3-1 win over Malawi marks their second victory under Swedish coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren in six games since his appointment in February.

Bjorkegren felt his team could have scored more, having created numerous chances that weren’t converted.

-According to a JoySports report on June 23, 2025 the coach said “The start was a little bit slow; otherwise, we were the better team the whole game.”

“We are creating so many chances; we won the game 3-1, but if you look at the chances, we could have scored six or seven. The most important thing is to win, play well and create chances, and this was a big step in the right direction,” he added.

The Black Queens’ match against Malawi is part of a series of three friendly games the team has scheduled before their opening match at the WAFCON tournament in Morocco.

In spite of the ambitious projection, he deems the win as a valuable preparation for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Black Queens will also face Benin and Nigeria before the tournament commences on July 5.
