Ghanaian musician and rapper, Kwesi Arthur, has shared his thoughts on the possibility of Ghanaian acts, including him, selling out the O2 Arena in the UK.

In an interview with GHOne TV, Arthur expressed his desire to host a show there in the future but explained that his current goal is to build his career gradually.

“It’ll be great to fill it up. But with how I’m moving, it’s my intention to build gradually. Now, it’s not the time for me to do that yet. I’m still building, and when the time is right, I’m going to do it,” he said.

He, however, stated that a combination of Ghanaian acts together can fill up the prestigious venue.

“Ghanaians have the ability to do that. If we all come together, (we can) possibly do a show there,” he added.

When asked if he feels pressured by the idea of selling out such a venue, Arthur responded confidently, “Nah, not at all. It’s not what I think on a daily. I don’t think of that much.”

The conversation about filling the O2 Arena was reignited in 2024 after rapper Medikal’s successful sold-out concert at the 2,800-seater Indigo O2 in the UK on May 3, 2024.

The event’s triumph has sparked discussions within the industry about the feasibility of Ghanaian artistes hosting concerts at larger venues like the 20,000-seater O2 Arena.
