After being re-elected, Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Okaikwei Central member of parliament-elect, has conveyed his sincere thanks and confidence.

Following the official results announcement on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Boamah said that he and his team were always guaranteed to win as long as the proper procedures were followed.

His comments followed the conclusion of a protracted campaign in the constituency.

In accordance with an order from the Accra High Court, the Electoral Commission (EC) completed the results compilation and announcement.

The court ordered the EC on January 4th to complete the collation procedures in Techiman South, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Ablekuma North by January 6th, 2025.

The EC was forced to take action when New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates in the impacted constituencies submitted mandamus applications, which prompted this instruction.

Following his victory, Mr. Boamah thanked his supporters and promised to keep up his hard work on behalf of the people of Okaikwei Central.

“We always thought that the numbers wouldn’t change, and we had to follow due process. We give thanks to God for a peaceful declaration and a peaceful collation exercise,” he said.

With 21,099 votes, Patrick Yaw Boamah defeated National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Baba Sadiq, who received 19,368 votes.
