    Several hundred delegates attended the opening cocktail event at Chan Chan Latino, a festive club located in the Southwest locality known as Santa Fe. A house band was playing a variety of Latin music styles while guests were greeted with mojitos upon arrival.

    A variety of appetizers were served, including empanadas, chicharrones, barbecued, pork, and plantains, just for starters.

    Cultural dancers sauntered their way between the tables and WBO president Gustavo Olivieri even took his turn on the Congas (or Tombadoras), quite skillfully at that!

    Undisputed female super lightweight champion Katie Taylor was on hand and graciously took loads of selfies with admirers. A nice icebreaker before The work of the convention starts Tuesday morning including the referees and judges seminars. The weigh-ins Wednesdays boxing card will also take place at 11:00 a.m.
