WBC #23-ranked super flyweight Namchai Dilokpraphuek (11-0, 6 KOs) successfully retained his WBC Asia super flyweight title when he stopped Akira Hoshuyama (11-4-1, 5 KOs) in round five on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Chonburi Provincial Ground in Chonburi, Thailand.

This was the first WBC Asia 115-pound title defense for Namchai, who is also a Muay Thai superstar. He won multiple Muay Thai national titles from 112 pounds to 122 pounds and also captured the WBC Muay Thai super bantamweight title in 2018.

The bout was exciting, with the Japanese boxer attacking aggressively from the opening round, while the Thai champion used counterpunching tactics to disrupt his opponent’s rhythm in a closely contested fight. The scorecards after four rounds all read 39-37 in favor of the Thai boxer.

The fight ended unexpectedly in round five when Hoshuyama pressed hard and cornered Namchai. However, the Thai boxer landed a powerful left hook followed by a right hand that knocked his opponent to the canvas, forcing the Japanese boxer’s coach to climb into the ring and signal surrender.

In the other co-main event, former multiple WBC regional titleholder Jakrawut Majungoen (53-8-2, 29 KOs) scored a majority decision over Dong Hong Jang (8-1-1, 4 KOs) by scores of 96-94, 96-94, and 95-95 to capture the vacant WBC Asia bantamweight title. Many boxing fans commented that the Korean fighter looked slightly better, but the judges saw it differently. A rematch would be fair for both sides.

    Undercard results:

Former IBF world bantamweight title challenger Anuchai Donsua (20-1, 10 KOs) won by disqualification over Saw Thank Zin (3-4) in round three of a scheduled six-round non-title bout. The referee stopped the fight due to repeated intentional headbutts by the Myanmar fighter, which left the Thai boxer unable to continue.

Bantamweight Thinnakorn Auntha (4-0-1, 2 KOs) scored a second-round TKO over Sorawit Chanthara in a scheduled six-round non-title bout.

Promoter: Piyarat Vachirarattanawongsi of Petchyindee Boxing Promotion.
