Retired Ghanaian boxer Bukom Banku has been spotted in a brawl with some women on the streets of Bukom in Accra.

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, the popular boxer was seen hitting a woman, while other women retaliated, with one slapping him from the side. People at the scene intervened and restored calm as the former boxer walked away.

At the moment, it is unclear what triggered the altercation between the famed boxer and the women.

Known by his birth name Braimah Kamoko, Bukom Banku announced his retirement in November 2023.

Since retiring, he has focused on his two sons, Abu Kamoko and Mustafa Kamoko, who have also embarked on careers in boxing.

Bukom Banku rose to fame after winning a bronze medal in the heavyweight category at the All-Africa Games in South Africa in 1999.

He bowed out of the sport with an impressive record of 29 wins in 30 bouts, securing 21 victories by knockout and suffering only one defeat. His sole loss came against former Ghanaian Olympian Bastir Samir in 2017.

During his boxing career, Bukom Banku won the WBO Africa Light Heavyweight title and the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title.
