Legendary athlete Usain Bolt was filled with excitement after his compatriot Oblique Seville won the 100m final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

The 100m world record holder leapt from his seat, shouting with excitement and throwing his hands in the air as he celebrated his compatriot’s historic achievement.

Wearing a black shirt and a hat, he was spotted holding and shaking the people around him, expressing his joy and enthusiasm.

Prior to the race, Usain Bolt had predicted that the two Jamaicans, Kishane Thompson and Seville, would emerge victorious in the final, and it came to pass.

From Ghana to Tokyo: A weekend of football rivalries, sprinting glory and boxing respect

The 24-year-old won gold in the men’s 100m event after beating the defending and Olympic champion, Noah Lyles, and his countryman Kishane Thompson.

With Oblique Seville winning the gold medal, the silver and bronze medals went to Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles from the United States.

Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles clocked times of 9.82s and 9.85s, respectively, while the winner, Oblique Seville, finished with a time of 9.77 seconds.

The finishing times of Oblique Seville, Kishane Thompson, and Noah Lyles mean that Usain Bolt’s world record remains untouched.

Usain Bolt’s 100m world record is 9.58 seconds, set on August 16, 2009, at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany.
