Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare returned to action for Hearts of Oak, helping the Phobians secure a 1-0 victory over Medeama on Sunday, April 2025.

Asare marked his return with a man-of-the-match award in the win at the Accra Sports Stadium.

He made three crucial saves to keep his third consecutive clean sheet. However, many have questioned whether he truly deserved the award.

Some argue that Asare’s performance was not exceptional enough to warrant the man-of-the-match honour.

Nonetheless, the Phobians edged Medeama 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Raphael Amponsah scoring the decisive goal.

Hearts of Oak secured their first win since returning to their traditional home venue and have climbed back into the top four.
