President Akufo-Addo couldn’t hold back his shock after he met a 54-year-old farmer with 18 children at the just-ended 40th Farmers Day Awards.

The president, who was on stage during the ceremony when the 1st Runner-up for the year, Nasam Fuseni from Yendi in the Northern Region was announced.

What drew everyone’s attention was the reaction of the president when the show host revealed that Fuseni had 18 children.

Akufo-Addo could be seen with shock written all over his face, asking the farmer, “18 children?” while congratulating him for his win, drawing laughter from the attendees.

This year’s Farmers Day celebration held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, served to recognise the vital role farmers play in driving Ghana’s economic growth.

It highlighted their commitment to providing food and raw materials for various industries, despite challenges such as climate change and limited resources.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, along with other dignitaries, attended the event to celebrate the achievements of farmers.
