Accra Lions have released highlights of their game against Dreams FC after they were charged with misconduct following comments made on the club’s social media platforms about match officials during their 1-0 loss to Dreams FC at the Tuba AstroTurf on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Accra Lions accused the match officials of poor officiating, describing it as a “huge scandal” and suggesting that the result was influenced by certain “people involved.”

These comments led to charges for breaching Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) stated that the club’s social media commentary on the match officials constituted misconduct and brought the name of the game into disrepute.

Despite the GFA’s actions, Accra Lions remain unwavering in their allegations. On Monday, January 6, 2025, the club released a statement strongly criticizing the officiating during the game against Dreams FC.

In the statement, Accra Lions raised concerns about poor officiating, alleging that several wrong calls were made during the game.

On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the club escalated their claims by releasing a video highlighting all the “wrong calls” they believe were made against them, further intensifying their call for reforms in Ghana football.

The video showcases several offside calls that Accra Lions claim were incorrect on the day. The GFA, however, has yet to respond to Accra Lions’ statement or the video.
