Former Minister of Sports, Mustapha Ussif, clashed with the chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, during the vetting of the Minister for Sports and Recreation-designate, Kofi Adams.

Ussif, a member of the Minority caucus, was interrupted by the chairman while laying his preamble for a question he intended to ask Kofi Adams.

Ussif argued that his preamble was necessary because it formed the foundation of his question and provided context.

However, the chairman claimed that the preamble was too long and directed Ussif to ask his question directly.

The back-and-forth triggered protests from the Minority, who argued that the chairman was not being fair to the former minister.

Eventually, the chairman moved to take a question from the Majority side before allowing Ussif to proceed with his questions.

Kofi Adams’ vetting lasted 39 minutes. He faced 18 questions, with Mustapha Ussif asking five of them.
