The Black Stars have wasted no time dwelling on their disappointing 1-1 draw with Chad, returning to the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, September 5, 2025, to sharpen their preparations for Monday’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifier against Mali.

The team touched down in Accra on Friday, September 5, 2025, and held a full training session under the watchful eyes of head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff.

Goalkeepers’ trainer and former Ghana number one, Fatau Dauda, led the shot-stoppers through an intense workout, with Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati Zigi and Joseph Anang all put through their paces.

Outfield drills focused on shooting and quick passing combinations, as Ghana sought to rediscover the cutting edge they lacked against Chad.

Defender Alexander Djiku, who missed Thursday’s match, returned to training, bringing much-needed relief to the squad.

Key stars, including Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, and Mohammed Salisu, also took part in the drills, underscoring the seriousness of preparations ahead of the high-stakes clash.

The mood around the camp, however, remained under scrutiny, following their loss of points against Chad. Despite the draw, Ghana still sit top of Group I with 16 points from seven games.

Madagascar are second with 13, while Mali trail in third with 12 points, setting up Monday’s clash at the Accra Sports Stadium as a potential group decider.

The Black Stars know victory will not only calm tempers back home, but also strengthen their grip on qualification.

Anything less, however, risks validating the frustrations of supporters and critics alike, who demand both commitment and results from Otto Addo’s side.
