A video of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, showing excitement after a ‘draught’ championship game between two of his subjects has sparked reactions online.

In the video shared on X on December 1, 2024, Otumfuo was spotted watching the match between a young man, known as Abu National, and an older man.

Dressed in a grey suit, the Asantehene stood alongside some chiefs as they observed the intense match. The draught championship, which lasted under 10 minutes, saw Abu National quickly overpower his opponent.

Otumfuo who appeared visibly surprised by the swift victory, exclaimed in astonishment.

After the match, he shook hands with the contenders and moved on to supervise the next set of contestants as they faced off.
