    Gospel music star Obaapa Christy delivered a captivating performance at the one-week celebration of the life of legendary highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, held at Black Star Square on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

    The event, which drew fans, celebrities, and dignitaries to honour the late icon, was marked by emotional tributes and musical performances.

    Obaapa Christy, a longtime admirer of Daddy Lumba, performed some of her hit songs, including W’asue Me and W’agye Me, electrifying the crowd with her powerful vocals and spiritual energy.

    Dressed in an elegant black lace gown with petal sleeves, her live-band delivery brought a balanced mood of celebration to complement the sombre event.

    Contributions from prominent figures to late Daddy Lumba’s family

    Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness, is celebrated for his timeless hits, which have earned him the title of one of Ghana’s greatest-ever musicians.
