Excerpts of the one-week observation of the late Daddy Lumba, have been trending since the event was held at Black Star Square on August 30, 2025.

During the ceremony, several renowned Ghanaian musicians—including Pat Thomas, Kofi Nti, Obaapa Christy, among others, took to the stage to perform in honour of the late musician.

However, one standout performance that has captured public attention was that of Nana Adomako Nyamekye.

The veteran musician, best known for his hit song “Adwoa Pinamang,” made a rare appearance after nearly two decades away from live performances.

He mounted the stage during the observation and delivered a ‘soul-touching’ performance that left mourners both emotional and uplifted.

Dressed in all black, Nana Adomako Nyamekye had sympathisers and the family of the late Lumba dancing to his soul-stirring tunes.

Midway through his performance, he paused to console Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late Lumba. In a video captured by GhanaWeb during the event, he was seen assuring her of his continued support.

“My nephew told me he was leaving you in my care. Therefore, I will do everything I can to look after you. I know Ghanaians are also ready to support you. We will provide for you financially and care for the children,” he said.

Following this emotional moment, Nana Adomako Nyamekye performed “Obaatan Pa” alongside popular singer KK Fosu.
