The Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo constituency, Ekow Assafuah, was spotted in a jubilant mood after Manchester United’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League.

The highly anticipated game, played on January 25, 2026, at the Emirates Stadium, began with Lisandro Martinez scoring an own goal in the 29th minute. Shortly after, his teammate Bryan Mbeumo bailed him out with an equaliser.

Patrick Dorgu’s spectacular strike gave the Red Devils the lead, but in a dramatic turn of events, Mikel Merino leveled the score at 2-2 in the 80th minute. The unexpected happened when Matheus Cunha’s brilliant strike sealed a 3-2 win for the away side.

The MP, being a staunch supporter of United, jumped from his couch and began jubilating and shouting in celebration of the winning goal.

He was heard saying, “Goal there, thank you, what a goal. Anka metwa bet anka madi (If I had staked a bet, I would have won),” as he clapped and cheered on the team.

The stunning victory sparked wild celebrations among Red Devils fans, coming just days after their derby win over arch-rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.

The result is a major boost for Manchester United, who have leapfrogged Chelsea to move into fourth place in the Premier League table with 38 points.
