Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew was on target for Leicester City in their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Boxing Day, December 26, 2024.

Six minutes into the Premier League match, Jordan Ayew put Leicester ahead with a beautiful goal.

A silky reception of a pass from Stephy Mavididi opened up Liverpool’s goal for Jordan Ayew, whose strike was aided into the net by a deflection from Virgil Van Dijk.

Leicester tried to protect the lead by camping in their half and limiting spaces for Liverpool, but the league leaders found a way in the 46th minute with a goal from Dutch forward Cody Gakpo.

The Liverpool pressure in the second half was too much for Leicester to contain as the Reds found two more goals.

Curtis Jones finished off a brilliant team move to give Liverpool the lead in the 49th minute before Salah consolidated the lead with an 82nd-minute goal.

The goal marked Ayew’s fifth of the season, with one assist in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Leicester City are struggling in the Premier League, with the Foxes now 18th on the league table with fourteen points from eighteen matches.
