Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana scored his first-ever goal for Atalanta on Monday night, helping the team to secure a vital 2-1 win against AS Roma in the Italian Serie A.

The win has guaranteed the club qualification to participate in the UEFA Champions League in the 2025/26 football season.

In the match against AS Rona, Sulemana missed out on a starting role for the contest but came on in the 68th minute to replace midfielder Mario Pasalic.

Less than 10 minutes after coming on, Ibrahim Sulemana showcased his ability to score with a long-range strike.

He pounced on a loose ball just outside the AS Roma area and fired a first-time shot that went into the back of the net.

Before his equaliser, Nigerian sensation Ademola Lookman had scored to give Atalanta the lead in the 9th minute of the first half.

However, a Bryan Cristante strike in the 32nd minute restored parity for AS Roma before the break.

Ibrahim Sulemana, 21, has struggled with injuries this season. He will hope for more playing time in Atalanta’s last two games in the Italian Serie A against Genoa and Parma.
