Ibrahim Fuseini failed to advance to the semi finals of the 200m

Ibrahim Fuseini’s campaign in the men’s 200m at the World Athletics Championships came to an early close on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, after he was unable to progress beyond the heats.

Drawn in Heat 5, Fuseini battled hard but crossed the line in sixth place with a time of 20.66 seconds. The performance, though spirited, left him outside the qualifying positions for the semifinals. Only the top three finishers in each heat earned automatic tickets to the next round.

It was Jamaica’s Jevaughn Levell who stole the show in the heat, powering to first place in 19.84 seconds — one of the standout times of the day. His commanding display underlined the gulf at the elite level and set the tone for the rest of the competition.

For Fuseini, the result may not have delivered the outcome he hoped for, but it adds to his growing experience on the world stage as he continues to represent Ghana in sprinting’s toughest contests.
