In what some fans term as an upsetting result, Sudan thumped Nigeria 4-0 in their second group game in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament on August 12, 2025.

After two games played, Sudan are leading Group D with four points, same as second-placed Senegal, while Congo lie third with two points and Nigeria are bottom with zero points.

Sudan will be facing Senegal in their final game to determine which team will top the group and advance to the next stage.
