Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus and his compatriot Thomas Partey faced off during West Ham United’s shocking 1-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on February 22, 2025.

During the game, Kudus gained possession of the ball in midfield and was surging forward when Partey attempted to dispossess the former Ajax player.

Kudus paused on the ball momentarily, Partey raised his leg, and the West Ham attacker skillfully twisted, turned, and lobbed the ball over his fellow countryman, passing it to his teammate.

This skill has garnered praise on social media for Kudus, who successfully outplayed Partey, considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season.

Kudus played the full 90 minutes, winning the most fouls (6), registering 48 touches, completing 4 dribbles from 8 attempts, winning 8 out of 16 ground duels, and creating two chances.

He finished the game with a 7.3 rating.

Following the win, West Ham United moved closer to mid-table, now sitting just three points behind Tottenham, who are 12th with 33 points.

Meanwhile, Partey’s Arsenal saw their title hopes take a significant hit, as they now trail league leaders Liverpool by 11 points.
