Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, in a jovial manner, chided former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher during a live television discussion.
Manchester City traveled to Spain and defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League on December 10, 2025, with Haaland scoring from the penalty spot.
After the game, the Norwegian striker joined CBS Sports Golazo for a post-match interview, where he disclosed that he felt nervous upon seeing Carragher among the panel.
During the interview, former Manchester City defender Micah Richards asked Haaland to choose between Los Blancos center-back Antonio Rüdiger and Carragher.

The player, who currently leads the 2025/2026 Premier League scoring chart, smiled, laughed for a while, and eventually said he would choose the German defender.
Haaland jovially mocked Carragher’s constant criticisms of footballers by saying, “He is a big loose cannon,” prompting everyone to burst into laughter.
The comment comes at a time when Carragher has faced backlash for his harsh criticisms of Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah regarding his outburst after being benched for three consecutive matches by Arne Slot.
This is how the conversation transpired:
Richards: How are you doing?
Haaland: I am getting nervous now when I see Jamie Carragher in the studio, so I am going to keep it.
Carragher: You don’t need to be nervous here, don’t be nervous.
Richards: Haaland, do you prefer Rüdiger or Carragher?
Haaland: I think it is Rüdiger now because Carragher is a big loose cannon.
