Popular Ghanaian football fan Baby Joe shed uncontrollable tears during the funeral of late Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, well-known as Pooley in Kumasi, on March 6, 2025.

Baby Joe, donning a black attire, broke down after sighting Pooley’s body and had to be helped to his feet by other mourners present at the event.

During the funeral, the technical team of Kotoko, led by head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum, were present in their yellow and black club jerseys to mourn the late supporter.

Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak fans also showed up in their numbers to sing songs and rally behind their departed colleague.

A delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by President Kurt Okraku, attended to commiserate with the bereaved family.

Pooley was murdered during a melee between fans and players of Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC during a Ghana Premier League match on February 2, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has adopted the children of Pooley and offered to take care of them.
